11 × 7 = 77
For 11 × a two-digit number, add the two digits and put the total in the middle.
11 × 13 → 1 (1 + 3) 3 = 143
Know the 10 times table? Add one more lot: 11 × 7 is 10 × 7 plus 7.

Look at the last digit of each answer from 11 × 1 to 11 × 10. The same pattern repeats for the next ten answers, so learn it once.

Write 6 twice: 11 × 6 = 66.
The order does not matter: 7 × 11 is the same as 11 × 7. Write 7 twice: 11 × 7 = 77.
Work out 10 × 12 = 120, then add one more 12: 120 + 12 = 132.
Work out 10 × 17 = 170, then add one more 17: 170 + 17 = 187.
Ask how many 11s make 88. You know 11 × 8 = 88, so the answer is 8.
Ask how many 11s make 154. Divide to find it: 154 ÷ 11 = 14.
