How each answer is found, step by step.
Work out 12 × 6 = 72, then double it: 72 + 72 = 144.
The order does not matter: 7 × 24 is the same as 24 × 7. Work out 12 × 7 = 84, then double it: 84 + 84 = 168.
Work out 12 × 12 = 144, then double it: 144 + 144 = 288.
Work out 12 × 17 = 204, then double it: 204 + 204 = 408.
