The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 5 × 1 to 5 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 5 × 30:
- 5
- 0
- 5
- 0
- 5
- 0
- 5
- 0
- 5
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 30 facts by heart. Use the method for the 5 times table instead: Five is half of ten, so work out the 10s answer and halve it.
Work out 10 × 30 = 300, then halve it: 300 ÷ 2 = 150.
5 × 30 = 300 ÷ 2 = 150
