The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 18 × 1 to 18 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 18 × 150:
- 8
- 6
- 4
- 2
- 0
- 8
- 6
- 4
- 2
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 150 facts by heart. Use the method for the 18 times table instead: 18 is 2 less than 20, so work out the 20s answer and take away 2 lots.
Round 18 up to 20: 20 × 150 = 3000. Then take away 2 × 150 = 300, so 18 × 150 = 3000 − 300 = 2700.
18 × 150 = 3000 − 300 = 2700
