The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 16 × 1 to 16 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 16 × 12:
- 6
- 2
- 8
- 4
- 0
- 6
- 2
- 8
- 4
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 12 facts by heart. Use the method for the 16 times table instead: 16 is double 8, so work out the 8s answer and double it.
Work out 8 × 12 = 96, then double it: 96 + 96 = 192.
16 × 12 = 2 × 96 = 192
