The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 16 × 1 to 16 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 16 × 25:
- 6
- 2
- 8
- 4
- 0
- 6
- 2
- 8
- 4
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 25 facts by heart. Use the method for the 16 times table instead: 16 is double 8, so work out the 8s answer and double it.
Work out 8 × 25 = 200, then double it: 200 + 200 = 400.
16 × 25 = 2 × 200 = 400
