The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 28 × 1 to 28 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 28 × 12:
- 8
- 6
- 4
- 2
- 0
- 8
- 6
- 4
- 2
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 12 facts by heart. Use the method for the 28 times table instead: 28 is 2 less than 30, so work out the 30s answer and take away 2 lots.
Round 28 up to 30: 30 × 12 = 360. Then take away 2 × 12 = 24, so 28 × 12 = 360 − 24 = 336.
28 × 12 = 360 − 24 = 336
