The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 19 × 1 to 19 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 19 × 200:
- 9
- 8
- 7
- 6
- 5
- 4
- 3
- 2
- 1
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 200 facts by heart. Use the method for the 19 times table instead: 19 is 1 less than 20, so work out the 20s answer and take away 1 lots.
Round 19 up to 20: 20 × 200 = 4000. Then take away 1 × 200 = 200, so 19 × 200 = 4000 − 200 = 3800.
19 × 200 = 4000 − 200 = 3800
