The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 14 × 1 to 14 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 14 × 200:
- 4
- 8
- 2
- 6
- 0
- 4
- 8
- 2
- 6
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 200 facts by heart. Use the method for the 14 times table instead: Split 14 into 10 and 4: work out the 10s and the 4s, then add them.
Split 14 into 10 and 4. 10 × 200 = 2000 and 4 × 200 = 800, so 14 × 200 = 2000 + 800 = 2800.
14 × 200 = 2000 + 800 = 2800
