The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 6 × 1 to 6 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 6 × 20:
- 6
- 2
- 8
- 4
- 0
- 6
- 2
- 8
- 4
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 20 facts by heart. Use the method for the 6 times table instead: Split 6 into 5 and 1: work out the 5s and the 1s, then add them.
Split 6 into 5 and 1. 5 × 20 = 100 and 1 × 20 = 20, so 6 × 20 = 100 + 20 = 120.
6 × 20 = 100 + 20 = 120
