The pattern behind the list
Look at the last digit of each answer. From 29 × 1 to 29 × 10 it goes like this, and then the same pattern repeats every ten facts all the way up to 29 × 50:
- 9
- 8
- 7
- 6
- 5
- 4
- 3
- 2
- 1
- 0
Working out big facts
You do not need to learn all 50 facts by heart. Use the method for the 29 times table instead: 29 is 1 less than 30, so work out the 30s answer and take away 1 lots.
Round 29 up to 30: 30 × 50 = 1500. Then take away 1 × 50 = 50, so 29 × 50 = 1500 − 50 = 1450.
29 × 50 = 1500 − 50 = 1450
